Refurbished... buyer beware
By Jay D. Anderson
I believe most refurbished items have been returned by a buy... generally without anything wrong with it and so sold as refurbished. You might think that means the item had something wrong with it and now that problem has been corrected. You might even think you are getting something that has "all the bugs worked out of it" and brand new. The brand new part may be right but I think this company Campbell-Hausfeld doesn't give a care about their products. I had to return a refurb as it was DOA... no air pressure and louder than my giant garage compressor. Then I went to a pancake compressor (new... same company)... instructions say "break in with regulator valve turned clockwise all the way" for 5 min... NO regulator... and for an airbrush!! 100 psi. Thankfully that one didn't work either... no air pressure at all after 15 min of running and so darn loud it was running in my basement and my wife was worried I might interrupt my neighbor's dinner (100 ft away in another closed house). I will keep my eyes open for this brand Cambell-Hausfeld and run the other way. No reflection on Amazon by the way...

It is, what it is
By Killertomatoe
This is a good compressor for what I think it is intended. If you expect to do nothing more than fill a car tire, blow up say a Intex pool, a pool float, bike tire, basketball, football, use it as a blower while working on your car....you won't be disappointed. If you expect to build your dream cape cod...well.It is loud, but then not as loud as my 10 gal. Craftsman. I wouldn't recommend using this in a inclosed room sitting two feet away. I fired it up outside, and I would say its less offensive than a 2 stroke weedeater, leaf blower. The neighbors didn't come out with pitch forks, and torches looking for it. It filled to 105 psi in three or four minutes out of the box and held pressure. I blew a completely flat tire about 3/4 of the way up off the above 105 psi.The compressor as a whole looks good, fittings, lines, guages are what I expected for less than $60.00. Which is not to say bad. The guages consist of a tank pressure, line out pressure, which can be regulated. The lines between the compressor, tanks, and regulator are fuel lines. I put a couple of wraps of cloth tape between anything touching to address the vibration issue. The accessories are on the cheapish side but serve the purpose. As a whole it is quite sturdy, and should be able to handle anything a non-contractor throws at it.The one complaint I have is, the air line itself. Its brittle, coiled, and definitely not meant to be stretched out. If you try, you will break it, guaranteed. I have a 10ft piece of Goodyear airline that I will add when the stock airline gives up. And it will, sooner than later :-)Like I said for the money its a nice sompressor, it will serve my purposes quite nicely, Its portable, it fills with, and dispenses air, so I am very happy with my purchase.
